Adopt, Succeed and Scale with Paceline
CREOSS Business Systems provides a suite of training courses that help
you learn and use the Paceline Software Engineering Framework (SEF). Courses
are designed to provide various levels of expertise – from basic concepts
and processes to comprehensive adoption across your organization.
Shown in Figure 1 is the Paceline Training Curriculum. Depicted are both
Web and Instructor-based (off and onsite) deliveries. Additionally shown are
the types of individuals the training is targeted towards as well as
the dependencies between the various courses. Lastly, the Paceline levels
of Certification are also shown.

Web-based Delivery
PL-100 (Web): Introduction to Paceline Software Engineering Framework
-
This one-hour webinar introduces technical and non-technical participants
to the Paceline SEF. It includes a detailed description of how Paceline extends well known Agile
frameworks and concepts (Scrum, XP, Lean, etc.) to provide additional rigor and focus on
delivering business-driven technology. The goal of this course is to provide students with
a general overview and exposure of Paceline’s principles, concepts and structure as an additive
to existing, well known, Agile Frameworks.
PL-110 (Web): Paceline for Executives
-
This one-hour webinar focuses on business-driven technology, and how Paceline delivers better
governance and value for investments in technology initiatives. Paceline’s unique focus on
Agile portfolio management is also presented. The goal of this course is to provide students with
exposure to how the application of the Paceline Software Engineering Framework brings governance,
rigor as well as an accelerated Agile adoption curve to their organization.
PL-120 (Web): Paceline for Information Technology Leadership
-
This one-hour, web-based workshop addresses the needs of information technology leaders. It
includes a panel discussion on the benefits of Agile in the field of Information Technology, as
well as a set of case studies that demonstrates the business advantages of Paceline as well as how
Paceline has added value to other well known Agile frameworks (Scrum, XP, Lean) Participants’
specific questions will be answered by the panel. The goal of this course is to provide students an
opportunity to be exposed to successful implementations (case studies) of Paceline SEF ecosystems
delivered with representatives from the client community itself to provide a forum from which just-in-time
questions can be answered and addressed regarding Agile and Paceline
Instructor-based (onsite or offsite) delivery
PL-1000: Paceline Overview (Level 1)
-
This full day class is oriented towards students that are new or somewhat inexperienced with Agile.
It includes an orientation to Agile (history, methods/techniques) as well as principles, concepts
and structure overview of Paceline’s approach to Agile. The students are then walked through Paceline’s
routines (daily, weekly). Students are exposed to how the application of a Paceline ecosystem to an
organization significantly mitigates risks as well as assists in accelerating the adoption of Agile.
Students are provided a review of Paceline artifacts. Coverage of how Paceline addresses Business-Driven
Technology through application of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) is also addressed. A very informative
and interactive workshop is included in this course that provides students with the necessary techniques
for implementing a Paceline Ecosystem. At the end of the course, students have the option to test for
Paceline Level 1 Certification. The goal of this course is for students who complete this class to be
able to go back to their projects and implement a Paceline Ecosystem (Collaboration, Task and Artifact
Management and Meeting Management).
PL-2000: Paceline for Agilists(Level 2)
-
This full day class is oriented towards students that are familiar and experienced with Agile (Scrum,
XP, Lean, etc.). Included is a review of principles, concepts and structure of the Paceline SEF and its
approach to Agile. Advanced concepts are presented in the context of case studies to help students in their
application of these concepts. Additionally covered is how Paceline is additive to familiar Agile frameworks
thus providing context to the value Paceline provides to an organization. The students are then walked through
Paceline’s routines (daily, weekly). Students are exposed to how the application of a Paceline ecosystem to
an organization significantly mitigates risks as well as assists in accelerating the adoption of Agile.
Students are provided a review of Paceline artifacts. Coverage of how Paceline addresses Business-Driven
Technology through application of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) is also addressed. A very informative
and interactive workshop is included in this course that provides students with more advanced techniques f
or implementing a Paceline Ecosystem. At the end of the course, students have the option to test for
Paceline Level 2 Certification. The goal of this course is for students to be able to go back to their
projects and implement a Paceline Ecosystem (Collaboration, Task and Artifact Management and Meeting Management).
PL-3010: Paceline for Business Analysts(Level 3)
-
This full day class is oriented towards students (Business Analysts) that have gone through the PL-2000 course.
This course is very deep in tools/techniques for articulating business need in a Paceline ecosystem that can be successfully
understood, built and quality assured and eventually delivered to the business. These tools/techniques are assumed to be
applied in the context of a Paceline ecosystem. Utilization of UML notation (Use Case, Activity, etc.), User Stories, Agile
Modeling are covered including requirements and user interface heuristic techniques that are unique to Paceline. Deep
coverage of Paceline’s artifacts and its application of Business-Driven Technology, gives students the knowledge to
apply their skills in crafting these. This course involves an extreme amount of hands-on collaboration with fellow-students
in topical exercises to expose, grow/enrich its student community in the art of succeeding as a Business Analyst in a Paceline
ecosystem. At the end of the course, students have the option to test for Paceline Level 3 Certification. The goal of this
course is for students to be able to succeed in their application of Business Analysis in a Paceline ecosystem.
PL-3020: Paceline for Software Architects and Software Engineers(Level 3)
-
This half day class is oriented towards students (Architects and Developers) that have gone through the PL-2000 course.
This course is very deep in tools/techniques engineering software in a Paceline ecosystem that is meets the needs of the
business. These tools/techniques are assumed to be applied in the context of a Paceline ecosystem. Utilization of Agile
techniques such as Vertical-Slicing, Architecturally-Significance, Test-Driven Design and Development (TDDD), Continuous
Integration (CI), Unified Build Infrastructure (UBI), Utilization of industry standard modeling notations such as UML
and Agile Modeling are covered. Deep coverage of Paceline’s artifacts and its application of Business-Driven Technology
provides students the knowledge to apply their skills in consuming these. This course involves an extreme amount of
hands-on collaboration with fellow-students in topical exercises to expose, grow/enrich its student community in the
art of succeeding as a Software Architect and/or Software Engineer in a Paceline ecosystem. At the end of the course,
students have the option to test for Paceline Level 3 Certification. The goal of this course is for students to be able
to succeed in their application of Software Architect and/or Software Engineer in a Paceline ecosystem.
