ProLink Solutions develops, resells and maintains a Business Intelligence software solution. Their Portfolio Management technology is deployed at many fortune 500 financial institutions.

Before implementation of the Paceline Software Engineering Framework (SEF), ProLink’s application development teams were not having successful software deployments using a traditional "waterfall" software development lifecycle (SDLC). CREOSS Business Systems assisted ProLink in deploying Paceline.

The switch from a waterfall SDLC to an Agile methodology proved to be a turning point for the organization. The Paceline “heartbeat” of week-long development iterations (called “cycles”) helped the software development group prioritize, manage, and execute their work more effectively.

As part of the initial assessment, ProLink was asked to develop their own metric for evaluating success. Their metric was focused on application development trajectory and quality of code, measured by reported bug issues.

In four week-long cycles, ProLink realized a four-fold increase in application development productivity (by their own measurement), and saw a 75% reduction in reported bug issues. The improvements in velocity and quality allowed ProLink to increase their deployment capacity exponentially, without sacrificing the quality of their products. Ultimately, the improvements translate into more revenue, higher profits, and improved responsiveness to customers’ needs.
